Course 1 – Maintenance Systems and Documentation
Prerequisites: There is no specific prerequisite knowledge or experience necessary to begin study.

Course 2 – Maintenance Systems and Documentation
Prerequisites: This program is designed for persons who are familiar with the maintenance department function, plant organization and leadership qualities.
Description: This comprehensive DVD training program covers the function of documentation including the work request system and maintenance history file. This program also provides an overview of the types of maintenance and considerations for contracting out.
Course 3 – Maintenance Safety and Efficiency
Prerequisites: There is no specific prerequisite knowledge or experience necessary to begin study.
Description: This comprehensive DVD training program covers maintenance safety and efficiency. This program shows and explains the role of the maintenance leader as it relates to safety in the plant, shop and field. This program also shows how to increase shop and field efficiency.
Course 4 – Planning
Prerequisites: This course is designed for persons who are familiar with the principles of maintenance organization.
Description: This comprehensive DVD training program covers maintenance planning. This program introduces the three levels of maintenance planning: long-range, short-range, and day-to-day, as well as the role of the budget in maintenance planning. The uses of planning technologies, such as CPM, PERT and Gantt charts are discussed, and the various phases of day-to-day planning, job analysis, development of the planning package, including the work order and planner’s worksheet, and the follow up audit are looked at in detail.
Course 5 – Scheduling
Prerequisites: This program is designed for persons who are familiar with the basic principles of a maintenance organization and with the different types of maintenance. Participants in this course should also understand the planning function as it relates to long-term maintenance.
Description: This comprehensive DVD training program covers maintenance scheduling. This program focuses on various aspects of developing an effective maintenance schedule, such as factors that will affect maintenance scheduling, determining how much work to schedule and when it should be scheduled and scheduling emergency maintenance jobs. This program also discusses the characteristics of an effective schedule and types of schedules.
Course 6 – Preventive and Predictive Maintenance
Prerequisites: This program is designed for persons who are familiar with the principles of maintenance organization, as well as planning and scheduling maintenance. A knowledge of the basic definitions and principles of preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance and corrective maintenance is also recommended.
Description: This comprehensive DVD training program covers preventive and predictive maintenance. This program focuses on various aspects of developing an effective preventive maintenance program, such as cost considerations, determining criticality of equipment, determining the frequency of preventive maintenance and scheduling considerations. This program also covers methods of developing a predictive maintenance program.
Course 7 – Parts and Materials
Prerequisites: There are no special knowledge or skills required for taking this lesson. A general understanding of facility inventory control procedures is recommended.
Description: This comprehensive DVD training program describes the features of effective parts and materials control. The key theme of the course is that, unlike other aspects of maintenance, the costs associated with parts and materials are controllable if they are subjected to appropriate management techniques. The activities that play a part in the control of parts and materials are discussed in detail.
Course 8 – Work Execution
Prerequisites: This program is designed for persons who are familiar with the process of planning and scheduling work on a long-range basis.
Description: This comprehensive DVD training program covers the various steps involved in the work execution process. This program shows and explains how to plan and organize resources for a job, how to staff a job with the correct workers and how to communicate to these workers the job to be done. This program also shows how to supervise and control jobs so that they meet facility standards.
Course 9 – Evaluating the Maintenance Program
Prerequisites: This program is designed for persons who are familiar with the entire scope of the maintenance management function. An understanding of planning, scheduling, documentation, types of maintenance and inventory control is recommended. It is also recommened that the person understands the types of maintenance history information that can be documented, including the tracking of manhours, materials costs, downtime, overtime and backlog information.
Description: This comprehensive DVD training program provides an overview of the evaluation process for a maintenance program. Criteria for evaluating the inventory system, labor utilization and other control factors are discussed.
Course 10 – Computerized Maintenance Systems
Prerequisites: This program is designed for persons who are familiar with all aspects of maintenance management, especially including the evaluation function. It is recommended that the person should understand the elements of planning, scheduling, documentation and the inventory system.
Description: This comprehensive DVD training program covers the subject of computerized maintenance management systems. A number of capabilities of computerized maintenance management systems are presented, describing ways in which a computer can assist in planning, scheduling and program evaluation and in controlling the work request system and the inventory system.
